Vintage 1940s Purple Slag Glass Rhodium Plated Art Deco Brooch Pin 1 3/4” Vintage 1940s Purple Slag Glass Rhodium Plated Brooch Large Cabochon Art Deco Retro Silver Tone Costume Jewelry Pin 1 3/4” Striking vintage 1940s, possibly late 1930s brooch featuring a large rectangular purple slag glass cabochon with beautiful cloudy lavender, plum and deep purple coloration. The oversized domed glass is set within an ornate openwork silver-tone base metal setting with a bright rhodium-plated finish and delicate floral and scroll details. A gorgeous late Art Deco/Retro era statement piece with wonderful dimension and an unusual moody purple color. The brooch has age-related surface wear, including areas of plating loss/discoloration and light surface wear to the glass consistent with its age. Pin mechanism remains intact.
